I have told you already about my role model: KAYLEE KINIKINI--
Well I messaged her on facebook telling her about my weight problem and how I can not lose it for the life of me. I asked her on some advice or "secrets" that she learned on the biggest loser... She responded with this :

Hi Emily!

Yes, my grandma is LaNada Gifford. :D That's cool that you were in the same ward. Small world :D Thank you for your kind words. It is so touching to me when fans take the time to send a message of support and encouragement, so thank you for making time for me!

Weight loss is a tricky thing sometimes, but really, the Biggest Loser secret is.... there is no secret. It's all hard work and constantly moving. We were blessed to be able to spend our whole day focusing on us and weight loss. We would be working out 7-8 hours a day. It was all about constantly moving. You didn't have to workout super hard all that time, but you just had to stay moving. We would walk and walk for miles and miles a day. But that's not realistic for losing weight at home. You just don't have that time. What I learned at the Ridge with Brett and Cara truly prepared me for home. Because at that time, we learned to put such a high intensity on our workouts that we only needed to work out 4-5 hours a day to get the same calorie burn as the lower intensity stuff. So if you want to see results and to be able to do it in a few hours a day, then go with high intensity workouts. Remember weight loss is all about calories in, calories out. Make sure you food journal everything you eat with the calories and then make sure you are burning off those calories everyday. 3500 calories equal one pound. So if you want to burn a pound a day you need to try and burn 3500 + whatever calories you ate for that day. And just warning, burning a pound a day is not reccommended, especially for women. We were on an extreme gameshow, and we were constantly supervised by medical staff, so I would reccomend half a pound at most. Some useful tools to keep track of what you burn throughout the day even when you are just sitting around are like the product BoddyBugg, we used that at the ranch, and then a heart rate monitor can be used to, you just have to keep it on all day instead of just during your workouts. Plus a heart rate monitor is a little cheaper than bodybugg.

But ya, those are a few tips from me :) Remember having a support team of people that care about you is important. Find those go to people that can help you when things get hard. I hope that helped Emily and thanks again for taking the time to message me!

Don't be too hard on yourself, babe. You've done so great so far. I mean, look at you! You quit Coke! Amazing!!! I was talking to my cousin's wife today, and she said she wanted to lose some weight before a cruise she went on. Her goal was to burn 1,000 calories per day, and it usually took her an hour and a half of high intensity workout. Yikes. Bikes. That's a whole lotta working out.

I am right there with you on the feeling yucky thing. I was doing really good with no pop and healthier foods and I was feeling great all week. Then I went to my family reunion Sunday and Monday and I didn't eat horrible, but I didn't eat great either and I feel sick. My energy is down and I just feel blah. But like you said tomorrow is a new day and I know I'll be feeling much better soon.
