Well in December my sister in law brought a thing of Drops and an instruction Manual... I still struggled whether I wanted to do it because of the STRICT protocol...
Let me explain the program:
There are 3 phases...
*during phase 1 & 2 you take 10 drops under the tongue 3x daily
Phase 1: is two days long... It's called the loading phase. During these two days you load on greasy, carbs, fatty foods... The more you eat the better... You have to have a constant feeling of being stuffed! (Tougher than you think)
Phase 2: the third day you start on phase 2 which can last a minimum of 21 days and maximum of 45 days. Here you are on a strict VERY low calorie diet! You basically consume only about 500 calories a day! You can only have certain food
Example: you can have two servings of fruit a day - usually 1st one is for breakfast. The only fruit allowed in this phase is oranges, apples, grapefruit, and strawberries.
For lunch and dinner each you have 4 oz of protein and 4 oz of veggies.
Only Protein allowed are steak, chicken breast only, white fish, ground beef 97/3.
Only Veggies allowed are any lettuce, chard, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, asparagus, celery, and radishes.
After you complete phase two you quit the drops. But follow the VERY LOW CALORIE DIET for 72 hours. Once 72 hours is up you start on phase 3!
Phase 3: this is called the maintenance period! You still can not have starch and sugar at this point! This phase last 21 days.. During this phase you up your calories to like around 1500ish! You can add a lot more foods to your eating plan... There is still a protocol but a lot more you can do with your food! This phase you have to stay on to the T- no cheating at all!!! This is where you learn to have portion control as well as learn to eat clean!
This diet is a lifestyle change! If you don't keep up with it - of course you will gain! This is why it's important to learn about clean eating and portion control!
During this diet you weigh yourself EVERY MORNING! Take before pics and progress pics. Measure yourselves weekly or every other week! They also call this diet POUNDS AND INCHES- if you are not losing on the scale- you most likely are losing inches!
After you finish phase 3 -if you are still not where you want your weight- you can start another round! If you are finished with maintenance and are where you want to be- you go into lifestyle! You can SLOWLY add starches and sugar- but once again take what you learned from portion control and clean eating...
So this diet seemed scary and skeptical to me! Especially phase 2... You tell me I can only have 500 calories??? That's insane...
So before I started, I talked with my dr... Prayed about it... And felt I was ok to do! If my dr is on board... So am I!!!!
