{CONTROL}

I have been reading blogs form the former contestants on Biggest Loser! I cam across Austin's today and LOVE it! He answers peoples questions about the show and so on-- Well this particular blog post stood out to me! Here it is!

Amazing right? So cool! Austin Andrews from Biggest Loser season 11!!

CONTROL:
"This week we watched the house struggle through a temptation. LIES! We saw a house face temptation- and WIN.

Except two.

Two contestants fought to take control.

Mike, from the blue team, looked at this challenge as a chance to win for his team. See, the temptation winners got power. The power to dictate who works out when. Mike, being from the older team was very determined to not workout at night. I get it, he wanted to ensure he didn't stay up too late.

John, on the Black Team, also wanted to choose the time of the workouts. John wanted it really bad. 37 donuts bad.

I have struggled all my life to have power. When i was three, my dad told me to pick up my toys. I said no. The conversation continued for a little bit, only getting gore and more exacerbated, till it ended. My dad took my hand in his own. I sat there screaming at the top of my lungs, determined to not pick up the toys. My dad saw to it that i picked up toys.

John wants control. As a high school football coach, he's used to calling the
shots. He told students when they'd practice, he decided who made the cut on his team, he called the plays. He was the coach. That was his school.

But this, isn't his team.

Biggest Loser is about teaching lessons, allowing us to gain life. Sometimes that means people taking control of the time they have and making use of it. Other times, most of the time, The Biggest Loser is about letting someone else take control. The training is controlled by someone else. Your time is controlled by someone else. The food is brought into the house by someone else. It is all about Control.

John saw it- in his interviews we see him, tears in his eyes, remorse screaming out of his mouth, he uttered the words- "what did i just do?"

How many times do we in our own lives utter those very words.

What did I just do.

Keeping the weight off is tons of work, and I must be honest. I have had days where i ask that question. The show doesn't use magic, it really is based on choices, and a few times i have made choices that i looked at later and couldn't believe. It's life. No one is excused.

The Biggest Loser shows us people that overcome obesity- but its' lessons reach far beyond just that of waist size. Control. Choices. Regret. Hard Work.

In todays IWork i want to focus on Control. What are you trying to control in your life that you cannot? What do you need to let go of? Post it in a comment, either on this blog or facebook"
